Recently, physics teacher Dr. Bozidar Jovanovic announced his resignation from BHSEC. Due to financial reasons he has decided to continue the profession he pursued before coming to Bard, working in quantitative finance. He isn’t thrilled to leave his teaching career behind, but remarked, “life is hard and when it gives you tough decisions, you must act accordingly.”

Knowledge College

On Saturday, February 6th, the BHSEC PTA will be hosting a new fundraiser called Knowledge College. The event will give BHSEC parents, and anyone else interested, an opportunity to go back to college for a day and take engaging courses offered by BHSEC faculty and others.
Spreading Holiday Cheer: Bard’s Gift Drive

With the collaboration of the entire student body and faculty, this drive has the potential to become very successful for both the Henry Street Settlement Shelter and Bard’s relationship with its community.
Raptors Soar Into the A-Division

The BHSEC boys soccer team remained a strong presence in the New York City B-division this year despite a disappointing loss in the playoffs. The Bard Raptors won an impressive eleven out of twelve games during the season and made it to the quarterfinals of the playoffs. With only two losses in the past three years, the Raptors have shown consistent dominance in the B-division. The PSAL has taken notice and recently invited the Raptors to join the A-division.
Spanish Exchange Students Arrive at BHSEC

On Saturday, November 21st, 13 American teenagers gathered with their parents in Terminal 4 of JFK International Airport. Two and a half hours later, these students, selected by BHSEC to take part in an international exchange program with the High School of Jesus and Maria in Valladolid, Spain, were still waiting outside JFK’s Au Bon Pan. “My legs hurt,” says Alejandro Anasal, one of the BHSEC students in the program, “but I was excited to meet them.”
